Chapter five: The realisation.

Climbing into the back of the black limo she whispered to herself 'hmmm discreet!'...Jon heard her though she was just mumbling to herself and said 'it's a double bluff, limos these days are just for bachelorette parties, so people think anyway'. She sat in the comfy seat before realising they were not alone...'Well what do we have here?' said the long dark haired man. 'Urm, hi' she said feeling quite awkward. Jon quickly butted in to make introductions 'This is Richie, Tico and David...and sleeping over in the corner is Hugh. His head only has to touch something and he is out. And guys this is....well we have no idea' he said before laughing loudly. She joined in with all the men laughing, glad of the light heartedness. 'Shouldn't you be in hospital?' Richie said after the laughter had stopped. 'Well the medics checked me out at the first aid place, they said that there is a concussion. But a hospital would only tell me to go home and get some rest...but of course I don't know where home is'. Richie questioned further, 'but surely the amnesia is cause for concern'. 'Well' she said 'I am just going by what they tell me. Its not like I am in immediate danger for my life, so they wouldn't want to admit me when someone else needs the bed far more. Besides Stewart said that the doctor at the show was perfectly qualified and he just said check in with my GP..which could be a problem I know!'. Nodding Richie said 'well that's fine then...I just don't want a stiff on our hands...' realising what he said when the other guys creased up Richie started digging further 'well a body in our hands...err well you know what I mean'.

Laughter was pretty much the theme of the car journey, the guys in the band helping to take her mind off of not only her headache, but her general situation.

**************

As the limo pulled up to the rear entrance of the hotel they all readied themselves to leave. Walking into the grand lobby of the 5 star hotel she began to feel out of place...'Jon' she whispered 'I don't think i fit in here', 'Don't be silly' jon laughed patting her on the shoulder. 'Well I am not their usual clientelle' she said looking down at her bon jovi t-shirt, jeans complete with holes and battered boots. 'Don't worry, I mean they let us lot in here don't they? Besides I think you look great' he smiled this little grin at her...She couldn't help but blush, that look half smile, half smirk. She hadn't realised how extremely good looking he was, she thought as she watched him walk up to the reception to check in, she couldn't help watching his back as he went. Or more specifically his bum, that man could drive to distraction without trying she thought.

'He is way too old for you!' a voice sounded behind snapping her out of her thoughts, spinning around she was greeted by the smiling face of Richie. Before she had a chance to respond he fired a question at her 'So are you up for a party tonight? When I say party I mean more of a small gathering...real low key' he said, trying to convince her. 'Sorry Richie but I might have to take a rain check. I am tired, and my headache...and besides I have nothing to wear'. Richie grinned 'Who are you trying to convince? Me or You?' he laughed. 'Well if you change your mind the offer stands'. 'That's ok' she replied 'Thank you though. I really appreciate the offer'. Richie just did this sort of half smile at the corner of his mouth before turning and saying 'what can I say? I tried' to everyone and no one as he walked away.

Jon returned to stand beside her. 'So can I show you to your room?'

Chapter four: An offer she can't refuse.

She walked off the stage towards the canteen area where a rather large man stopped her, 'erm miss, Jon would like you to wait backstage for him if you don't mind.' Looking at the man, she thought to herself why should she trust him, or Jon for that matter...but against her better judgement she replied 'what the hell, it's not like i have anywhere to go'. The burley man introduced himself as Stan, he was one of the band's minders and as it turned out was a really nice guy. She filled him in on her situation from waking up in the first aid tent to winding up on stage with the band. At the end of her story he chuckled in his deep tone and simply said 'Well at least if you owe anyone any money you can say i don't remember and it's the truth!' He wasn't that funny but she was just greatful of the light relief and laughed out loud. They spent another half hour or so chatting before they heard fireworks going off and what she supposed was the end of the gig...

The band left the stage after taking in huge amounts of applause from the crowd, Jon, Richie and David were in stitches because Tico had to be practically dragged from the stage he was enjoying it so much. 'So anyway' laughed Richie, 'That after show party is going to be a good one, i can feel it in my bones. We just gave that stadium one hell of a send off boys!' Jon smiled 'Well guys there is just this thing...' Tico laughed out interupting him 'Would that be a lady thing?' The rest of the guys all laughed at that remark. Jon smirked 'Well what can a guy do? No really i just feel like a quiet one'. They carried on walking down the corridor where they met Stan, 'She's in the canteen boss' he said to Jon. The rest of the guys just walked off laughing 'Just a quiet night eh?' chuckled David.

Walking into the canteen Jon saw her sat with her back to the doorway, hugging her legs. 'They don't like it if you put your feet up on the chairs'...she turned round with a start, and was encountered with those big blue eyes. 'Hey...sorry i was just' she stuttered, 'hahaha i was kidding' Jon replied trying to lighten the mood. 'Hey Shortstuff...' Jon smiled as he spoke, 'You can quit with the shortstuff for a start' she said trying to sound indignant but she couldn't hide her smile. Jon laughed before his face turned more serious, 'listen Stewart told me that you are going to be staying in police accomodation?' She just shrugged her shoulders sadly in reply, 'Well hey i have a plan, our hotel suites actually have two rooms a piece...so i can bunk in with one of the guys and you are welcome to mine, until we here from your family that is'. Looking at him astounded by the generosity of a guy she had met only minutes earlier she considered his offer, 'that is very kind of you...and i guess i am not in a position to turn it down'. 'Well that's settled then' Jon said as he stood, 'limo is waiting out front, come on'.

Chapter three: My name's Jon.

'So this girl, she can't remember a thing?'...'nope i am afraid not Mr Bon Jovi' Stewart replied, not in the least bit starstruck, he really had no idea who the band were. 'And in what way can i help?' Jon Bon Jovi said as he quickly took a drink, he was in the middle of a break before the last encore but had found time to converse with the First Aider. Stewart looked over at the girl before replying, 'well i thought she most probably didn't come alone, and as all eyes are on you out there, maybe you could put her up there for a minute and see if anyone claims her?'. Jon glanced at the girl, then back at Stewart with a concerned look; 'slight flaw in your plan' he said pausing to wipe sweat from his face. 'What if some random stranger up to no good claims her?'. Scratching his head Stewart replied, 'Well obviously we are going to have to veto them all, which could take time....we have no precedent on this really. I guess the Police would be willing to put her up for the time being until...'......'JON! YOU'RE UP!' someone called from the side of the stage, 'listen that's my cue' Jon replied 'i'll see what i can do'. Jon then turned to the girl who Stewart had pointed out...

'Just sit here for a minute' he had said...she glanced at her watch, that was nearly five minutes ago she thought and huffed. 'I just want to go home, wherever that is, and relax, maybe have an aspirin or five for this headache'....She was sat in an area that appeared to be a like big warehouse or something, people were milling around everywhere, she was just sat on a deckchair waiting....'Hey you' someone called from somewhere behind her. Ignoring it she just carried on watching the passers-by. 'HEY! you with the blonde hair, shortstuff!'. She turned around to see who was creating the commotion. Stewart was standing with a man, and waving her over. The guy was probably in his early thirties she thought, with blonde hair quite long and pulling a t-shirt on over his bare chest with no hint of embarrasment being in front of all these people. She walked over to the two men. Jon just stood and watched her walk, she was short, probably 5'2' but cute with it, blonde hair that was layered and sat on her shoulders, her head tipped slightly to look at the floor. When she reached them she glanced up and Jon just looked into her eyes, they were the deepest blue, but red from crying. He just wanted to grab her up for a hug, she didn't cut the happiest sight... He snapped himself out of it as he realised he was staring at her, he just grabbed her hand and marched her up some steps behind him...'My name's Jon' he said before practically dragging her out into the open.

She stood there eyes wide open, her jaw she was certain was somewhere on the floor right about now. He had pulled her onstage out in front of thousands of people who were all cheering and clapping...She just stood in awe, Jon next to her was talking and motioning to her but everything just seemed fuzzy.
The cameras for the big screen on the stage moved to focus on Jon and the girl.
'So i wonder if anyone out there would like to help me out?' Jon asked on mic to the whole crowd. Cue a massive roar and random screams of 'i love you Jon!' and 'Anything!'.
'Well i have a girl here who i need to find any friends or relatives for, if you are out there could you please go to the nearest St John's Ambulance or Missing persons Posts, thank you very much'.
He flicked off the mic for a second and leaned into her ear, 'Listen if they are out there that will find them for sure'. 'Thank you' she somberly replied, Jon kissed her softly on the cheek and pointed for her to go backstage again, watching her as she went, he sub-conciously shook his head. She walked off as the crowd cheered more and the band began to play the intro to another song...'Time ain't nothing but time, it's a verse and no rhyme, and it all comes down to you...'

Chapter two: Clueless.

There was just this strange disembodied voice.....'hello, can you hear me? can you open your eyes for me'. 'Nope i'm fine as i am, thanks' she thought to herself. 'OUCH!' she jerked her eyes open as someone pinched her ear lobe very hard. 'Well was there any need for that' she thought as she reached up to rub the soreness away...Mind you that was not half as painful as her head.
'Well hello, you had us worried for a moment there', that voice again, turned out it was a St. John's Ambulance person. 'My head is kind of, no! extemely painful' she said as she slowly sat up surveying her surroundings. The Ambulance man chuckled slightly to himself 'Well that is ever likely. Falling head first into a metal rail is never going to end well'. She shifted her legs over the side of the bed she sat on, she looked at him, he was an older man probably late 50s, with greying hair, friendly looking, she looked at the surroundings; she appeared to be in a big white tent. 'So that is what caused this lump then' she said as she creased up her face in pain as she felt her head. 'Yep i am afraid you are probably going to have a splitting headache very soon....erm....sorry what is your name?' the Ambulance man said as he reached for the obligatory paperwork he was required to fill in. She thought for a moment before it dawned on her....she had absolutely no idea. She couldn't stop the tears then, 'i really don't know' she started to sob, 'where am I? Why am I here?'. The ambulance man moved over to sit next to her, 'Now don't fret, it's ok' he said as he shushed her. 'My name is Stewart Cooper, and i am a first aider here'... 'where are we?' she butted in before he could continue. He wrote something down on the paper before he spoke, she craned her neck to try and see, 'well we are at a music concert. Bon Jovi to be precise'. He pointed to her t-shirt, 'apparently you are a fan!' he said with a warm smile. She glanced down at the upside down picture of four men on her t-shirt....'Bon Jovi?' she said slightly confused, 'i have no idea who that is?'. She began to sob again as the reality of the situation began to sink in. Stewart continued writing on the forms before rising from the bed, 'i will be back in two seconds' he said before hurrying off.

'Well great' she said under her breath, she started fumbling through her pockets trying to find something that would tell her who she was. All she turned out was a crumpled five pound note, a london underground all day transport pass and some Extra chewing gum. 'Well ok we have a plan young lady' Stewart said as he reappeared in the tent, 'We figure you probably didn't come alone so we are going to try and find your friends from the crowd. Do you think you can walk with me?'. She eased herself off the low bed and stood up, 'yeah i think so ' she said quietly. Willing her head to stop throbbing, the loud music in the background not exactly helping, she started to follow him.

****

'Hey babe should we go now? You can buy that t-shirt you wanted then' he said hopefully. Near enough 2 and a half hours stood listening to the band was just about his fill, he wasn't exactly the biggest fan of Bon Jovi. His girlfriend sighed 'yeah i guess it would be good to beat the crowds, and we have to meet up with your sister' she said as she reached for her bag she had put at her feet. They started to make their way back through the crowds of people as the band continued to play...

Chapter one: The Show.

August, year 2000 London, England, the night of the last ever gig at wembley stadium. There was one fan in that crowd of thousands who was shaking like a leaf in anticipation, more she felt than anyone else there. She was 19 years old, a second year university student and a massive Bon Jovi fan. She had been obsessed with the band since she first heard Always as a 14 year old girl, when she was young and impressionable. Jon Bon Jovi was her first crush...and as it seemed most long lasting, as five years on and no other actor or musician had been able to steal his crown.

And this was her first ever chance to see that man in the flesh, maybe not up close considering there were a couple of thousand people in between her and where he would soon be. But this was it, 'we will be breathing the same air' she thought as she hopped from foot to foot trying to regain some circulation. She had been stood for what seemed like a lifetime. In the queue at the stadium, the queue for merchandise, queue for the food and drink stall....and so then inevitably the queue for the toilets. But the support band Toploader had finished now, it was nearly time. She was watching with great interest the roadies and technicians scaling the rigging of the stage, amazed at their lack of fear at such heights. She saw the famous white microphone stand being brought out centre stage, and the many many guitars...she marvelled at the whole process as this was her first ever gig. Minutes later she was distracted as the crowd near the front started to scream, 'here we go' she thought....

From the opening chords of Livin' On a Prayer she was swept away on a tide of emotion...all the songs that she had loved for years brought to life. During the first encore she turned to her brother and his girlfriend who were also there and said 'i have got to try and get closer, meet you at the car after the show'. She turned and went before they had a chance to answer let alone stop her. But they were not too concerned, they had a little alone time at last! So on she went through the throngs of people, 'it is much easier when you are on your own' she thought as she said excuse me and pushed past another couple of fans. 'Just pretend you are coming back from the toilets to your space' she thought chuckling to herself. As she reached the furthest she could do due to barriers she squeezed in amongst the people saying sorry and asking if she could just watch a little from that position. The other fans were mostly obliging, one girl on her own doesn't take up too much room.

She had been there for a few minutes when the band started off a familiar tune that she had always loved....Jon shouted 'this is for friendship' as the riff for Blood on Blood began ringing in her ears, she was in awe as she had been since the start of the show. But at this point she noticed the crowd started getting rowdy behind her. sSme lads who had obviously had one too many at the Beer stand were pushing through and generally ruining the atmosphere, and other people were retaliating, pushing back. Suddenly there was a surge forward as the crowd started pushing and moving around and she was squashed against the barriers. She tensed her stomach muscles and tried to push her self away, but she was just squashed back against the metal barrier. Suddenly the crowd gave way and she moved back a few feet. Feeling the relief she started to walk towards the barrier again, but the crowd again pushed forward, knocking her forward right off her feet....
