Chapter 16: The Breakfast Club.

".....please leave a message after the tone....." beep 'Hello Mr Bon Jovi, this is Sargent Brown of the metropolitan police. We have found the young girl's family if you could contact us as soon as possible that would be appreciated...."

---------------

Jon stepped into the shower, turning the water on he winced at it started out cold.
Putting his hands on the wall he let the water run over his body.
Just a bit of morning wood nothing to do with her. Just been a little while is all.
He poured a good amount of shampoo on his palm and started massaging it into his hair.
Anyway they'll find her family and we will go our separate ways forever. That'll sort that little issue out once and for all.

Realising he had been stood rubbing shampoo in his hair for the past 5 minutes as he rationalised things in his head, he quickly rinsed and got out of the shower. Grabbing a towel from the rack he thought he'd go order them both some breakfast.

---------------

Stretching her body right out just luxuriating in the king size bed, she resigned herself to getting up.
Looking at herself in the mirror she flinched at the red-blue bruise on her forehead. It wasn't as sore as it looked, but it did appear she had gone ten rounds with Lennox Lewis...and not won.
Tying her hair back, she just shrugged and jumped in the shower.
A brisk 5 minutes later she was dry and ready to face the day...but that bruise...
Hmmm how to cover a bruise...well i don't have a fringe, it's going to have to be make up.
Opening the bathroom cabinet she retreived the complimentary make up bag and took out a couple of paracetamols to soothe the dull ache in her head.
They really do provide everything she thought as she rifled through the bag.
She pulled out a thimble sized pot of foundation.
'Ok well it may take the edge off' she said to herself as she smoothed it on her face.

She was just finishing off the rest of her make up when there was a light knock on the door.
'Hey Shorty! Hurry up in there i bring.....'
She opened the bathroom door before he could finish. To find Jon arms crossed leaning on the doorframe, he wore a black short sleeved shirt and battered stonewashed jeans.
Well hello there she thought to herself as she looked him up and down subtly.
'Hey' he smiled to her.
'Hey yourself...What do you think?' she asked pointing to her forehead.
'I think ouch! Is that as painful as it looks?' Jon said screwing his face up in sympathetic pain.
'Damn. And there was me thing i did a good job of covering it up!' She laughed. 'Don't worry it's not as painful as it looks.'
'Good'. Jon smiled to her. 'Well i hope you have a good appetite i ordered pretty much everything for breakfast!' he said as they both walked through to the living room of the suite.

---------------

After enjoying a hearty breakfast and chatting about the world and his dog. They sat on the balcony of the suite taking in the morning sunshine.
'SHIT!' Jon suddenly exclaimed. 'There was a phonecall just as i was getting in the shower. I let the machine get it.'
He rose from his chair and wandered to the telephone to see iof any messages had been left.
Sure enough he listened to the statement the policeman had made earlier that morning.
Well that's it. Time to say goodbye i guess.
He dialled in the number the officer had left and spoke to the same Sargent Brown. He told Jon they had received a phone call from her brother, which had been verified. Jon offered to take her home as it was just in Surrey, not a long drive away, and it had been settled.

---------------

Jon walked back through to the living area of the suite, the sliding door to the balcony area was open and the curtains were blowing in the warm breeze.
Stopping short of the door he stopped for a moment...
He could see her reclining on one of the patio chairs, her legs stretched out before her, she absent mindedly played with her hair. Dressed in her bon jovi t shirt from the day before and the shorts he had lent her, she was still a sight for his sore eyes.

'Hey' he said as he walked back out.
'Hey Jon i had a great thought...' she said as he walked to the patio chair opposite.
'...you could support the stones. You could sort it for me to meet the band.'
'Is that all i am to you? A chance for a backstage pass?' he laughed. 'Anyway what's old Mick gonna say when you tell him you only like the older stuff?'
She pulled a face and stretched her neck back to feel the sun on her face.

'Hey listen though' Jon said. 'That phonecall, they've found your family'.
She looked at him in the face, slowly taking her feet off the table and onto the floor.
'You live in surrey, i know you've got at least one brother and your whole family is really worried about you.'
She looked down from his face, just taking it all in.
Jon looked at her, tilting his head to the side he said 'aren't you pleased?'
Looking up and smiling 'Yeah i am, but it's weird i'm a bit nervous' she replied.
'Well you better go get your stuff together 'cause i said i'd take you back.'
She stood and turned to go through the balcony doors.
'By the way' he said.
She turned to look at him once more. He stood and held out his hand as if to shake hers.
'It's nice to meet you Ruby.'
